A Suffolk Ceremony photoshoot
‘A Suffolk Ceremony’ magazine recently offered me the wonderful opportunity of conducting a bridal photoshoot at The Tudor Barn, a lovely and historic wedding venue in Belstead. I jumped at the chance to work with some of the finest wedding suppliers in the county, and in the process have managed to capture what is really special about planning your wedding as a Norfolk or Suffolk bride.
‘A Suffolk Ceremony‘ is produced in association with both Norfolk and Suffolk Bride magazines, and is intended to provide every reader with the inside knowledge, expert advice and tips to design the most magical ceremony in East Anglia. Naturally, they arranged for me to meet with some very talented and inspiring people, all of whom offer the highest quality wedding services.
We met early in the morning at The Tudor Barn, a uniquely restored, Grade II listed barn on the Essex/Suffolk border which is fast becoming the hottest wedding location in the south-east. Not only does it have a great hall with a capacity for up to 200 people, it’s full of natural light and offers an absolutely stunning backdrop for those all important treasures, the wedding photos. Guests love the proximity to open outdoor space (the barn is surrounded by seven acres of charming English woodland) as well as the fully stocked bar run by the excellent Boston & Co, who serve cocktails, premium spirits, draught beers and wines.
As I have previously mentioned, ‘A Suffolk Ceremony’ organised the very best wedding suppliers to collaborate with me for this shoot. Laura Bartrum of Norfolk’s bridal shop ‘Boutique of Dreams‘ was on hand to supply the dresses, which were nothing short of stunning and modelled to perfection by Steffi Bickers who perfectly embodied bridal elegance and beauty. Steffi’s hair was expertly styled by Melanie Grimwood from the Innov8 hair studio, and her make-up was taken care of by Millie Stammers of Millie Rose Hair & Beauty Hair & Beauty. Lastly, Steffi wore flowers – provided by Emily Shulver of Park Flowers by Emily Rose – both in her hair as a floral hair crown and held as a bouquet. I think you’ll agree that these classic blooms offer the final touch of timeless beauty to proceedings and really bring Steffi’s ensemble to life.
I had a fantastic time working with all these creative people in this perfect wedding location, and hope that the resulting photos inspire prospective brides and grooms to hunt for the very best wedding suppliers in Suffolk.

Today is World Photo Day! Photography was the first real visual format that allowed us to capture our memories, happy or sad, and of days past. With the age of digital photography, almost everyone can capture and treasure snippets of their lives and loved ones.
I want to share a photograph of my wonderful nephew, he is such a pleasure to photo as he has such an expressional face, most of the time smiling with a cheeky little grin of a boy who is about to get into mischief, (or just has been but you don’t know yet what he has done!) Happy #WorldPhotoDay!
