What to Wear & Bring for Your Musician & Band Shoot
Promo shots that match your sound, for press, covers and socials. We want images that feel like your music, whether that is moody and gritty or bright and bold.
A promo photo has a job to do. It tells a promoter, a playlist editor or a fan what you sound like before they hear a note. So we shoot to your genre, keep the look strong and readable, and give you a set that works across a poster, a cover and a phone screen.

The basics
Dress like your act
Dress as you would on stage or for your genre. The shoot should feel like your music, not a day off from it.
Bring options
Two or three looks each lets us vary the set and keep the shots fresh across press, covers and socials.
Coordinate the vibe
As a band, share a mood without matching like a uniform. You want to look like one act made of individuals.
Bring your instruments
Instruments are part of your identity in the frame. They give you something to hold and the shots something to say.
Cut the clutter
Steer clear of tiny logos and busy detail that read as noise in a wide shot. Keep it bold and readable.
Wardrobe
What to wear
Great choices
Your stage look
A sharp layered piece
A signature texture
Also fine
A statement shirt
A strong plain tee
Best avoided
Distracting bright logos
Clashing busy prints
Mismatched band clutter
Colours that work
Pick a tonal band palette. Darks and moody tones for edge, or warmer tones for a brighter feel, so the group reads as one act.

Questions bands ask
Can we get band shots and individual shots?
Yes. We cover the full group for press and posters, then individual frames for socials and member profiles. Tell me what you need the shots for and we will plan the set around it.
Can we bring large instruments or amps?
Bring what says who you are. There is parking right outside and space to work with kit. If you are planning on something big, drums or a full backline, let me know first so I can set the room up for it.
Can you shoot a grittier, location look?
We can. The studio gives full control of the light, and a location adds atmosphere and edge. If you have a setting in mind that suits your sound, we can build the shoot around it.
Can you shoot for cover art and vertical socials?
Yes. Tell me the formats you need, a square cover, a wide banner, vertical for reels and stories, and we will frame with room to crop so every platform is covered.
