Model Portfolio Photography in Suffolk
Studio sessions for models starting a portfolio or updating one. I photograph at my studio at Base Business Park in Rendlesham, near Woodbridge, and the aim is a set of clean, varied images an agency can use.
What a portfolio needs
A strong portfolio shows range. One good picture is not enough, because an agency wants to see your face clearly, your proportions, how you move and how you carry different styles. In most sessions I work through these shot types:
- HeadshotA true likeness under clean, controlled light. Minimal makeup, simple hair.
- Full-lengthYour proportions, posture and stance, against a plain background with nothing to distract.
- FashionDifferent outfits and attitudes, with real movement rather than stiff poses.
- BeautyClose in on face, skin and hair, lit to show texture and tone. This is the shot to book a makeup artist for.
- EditorialA story in one frame, built from mood, lighting and expression. Bring references if you have them.
- Fitness and swimwearSportswear, swimwear or simple underwear, showing confidence and natural body lines.
- CommercialApproachable and natural, the kind of image brands use to sell a feeling as well as a product.
Direction during the session
Most people need some guidance in front of the camera, experienced models included. I direct throughout, particularly on posture, line, hands and expression, and help you build variety without forcing anything that looks unnatural.
Bring several outfits and we change looks as we go. There is no fixed time limit, though most sessions take two to four hours. The studio has a changing room and plenty of parking.

Comp cards
If you need a model card, I photograph the standard set for it: a straightforward headshot, a front-facing full-length shot and both side profiles, normally in sportswear or swimwear. I design the card from those images, and you receive a digital version to send to agencies or attach to casting applications.
Chaperones and safety
All sessions are SFW. You are welcome to bring a chaperone, and I am comfortable working that way. If the model is under 18, a parent or guardian must attend.
My models site has a page on staying safe as a model, covering what you are entitled to ask of any photographer, me included. If you have not done a studio shoot before, what happens at a shoot walks through the whole thing.
After the shoot
I edit a selection of images and upload them to a private online gallery. You choose the ones you want, and once they are paid for you download the files. The gallery stays open for 12 months, so you can come back and add images later.

Is this the right session?
This service is for modelling portfolios only. For business headshots, actor headshots, personal branding or a portrait sitting, use the service built for that. If you are unsure which you need, get in touch before booking and I will advise.
