There is plenty of parking available. There are two steps into the studio that some might need to consider.
There are makeup and changing facilities plus toilets.
Yes, I am fully insured with both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
I am always updating the blog and website as well as entering competitions and applying for qualifications.
I may, therefore, want to use some of your images for this but you can rest assured I will ask for permission first and get a model release from you. I always respect your privacy and if you do not want this that’s absolutely fine.
Because of storage costs and physical space, the images are kept up to 1 year after your session.
If you do not view or order within 30 days of receiving your files they will be deleted.
According to UK law, specifically the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the copyright of any photograph remains with the photographer. As the photographer, I retain all copyright ownership over the images taken during the photography sessions.
Can I copy or scan the images?
Copying or scanning the images without written permission constitutes an infringement of copyright law. To obtain permission to use the images, please contact me to discuss your needs.
Do you offer digital packages for non-commercial use?
Yes, I offer digital packages that enable you to share your images on a non-commercial basis. Please note that the photographs in these packages are intended for personal use and may not be sold or used for commercial purposes without prior agreement.
Can I sell these images to a third party?
Selling the images to a third party without first obtaining a licence agreement from me is strictly prohibited. Should you wish to sell or use the images for commercial purposes, a formal licence agreement must be negotiated and the appropriate fee paid.
Yes. All bookings are scheduled prior to the shoot at a convenient time and date. This can be done via a link to my online booking calendar or just give me a call and I’ll be happy to arrange one for you.
Studio and location sessions run for up to 3 hours. That gives plenty of time for wardrobe changes, different backgrounds and, on location, the best spots around the grounds.
Yes, I work with several highly qualified makeup artists who are simply fantastic. They will work with you to provide whatever look you require. This will be charged at their normal hourly rate.
Absolutely. I love to have lots of people around the studio as it creates a great vibe. The more the merrier.
I’m happy for you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in and which reflects your personality. However, I do advise clients to wear casual clothing that’s quite neutral as opposed to the latest fashion, which can easily date the photographs. I’d also advise staying away from striking patterns, spots and brand names as this can distract the eye and take the attention away from people’s faces.
Think texture OVER print. Big, bold and crazy patterns distract from your face, especially in photos. Textures, however, photograph beautifully. Textures are cable knit, denim, lace, tulle, chiffon, velvet, and even fur. Also, if you absolutely must have a print, consider pairing it with a cardigan or a texture to tone the print down around your face.
Bring a range. While I’ll only photograph you in 5 outfits, bring 20. We’ll put things together at your arrival and who knows? Maybe I’ll even put together options you haven’t thought to wear yet!
I have a secure password-protected online gallery which you can share with family & friends. This is normally ready within two weeks of the shoot. You can then browse at leisure, in the comfort of your own home, and choose which photos you would like.
Yes, I have my own suppliers for album printing, canvas wall art, prints and more. Ask about what I can supply for you. This can all be done via the online gallery.
You are more than welcome to purchase as many edited images as you require. I will not release unedited photographs.
Absolutely not. I always aim to produce the best quality images I can and give clients memories that will last for many years. If you feel the images are not to your liking there is no obligation to purchase. That said, it’s not something I have seen happen to date.
A family of four can fit in the studio at any one time depending on your shoot type. I’d suggest keeping to the smallest number of guests.
Yes. My main backgrounds are white, and for single portraits I also have grey. Other colours can be accommodated but there may be an additional cost.
Definitely. I have many years of experience in image editing and can remove and change many things. Please contact me or let me know on the day what you would like changed or removed. It is my rule that I will not remove a blemish that I consider is part of your normal face or body.
I have taken commercial headshot images for over 5 years.
I recognise how important personal appearance is to the outcome of a shoot. My priority is to ensure you’re happy with how you look in the images. You’re welcome to check your appearance before, during and after the session to confirm you’re satisfied.
While I can offer expert advice on makeup and attire, including guidance on what works well for formal photography, the final decisions are always yours. Please share your preferences and concerns ahead of the session so we can work together to achieve the look you want.
I’ll offer professional guidance throughout, but accountability for choices on makeup and attire always rests with you or your representatives.
