I am Bob Foyers, a commercial photographer and the owner of Foyers Photography. I recently worked for the second time with Lauren Jennifer Music, also known as The Goth Cowgirl, at my studio at Bentwaters, an old RAF base near Woodbridge, Suffolk. The aim was a set of images that captured her goth country and Western style.
Lauren, a rising musician, needed the photographs for her website and social media, so it mattered that each shot stayed true to her brand. She is fun and energetic to work with, which set the tone for the whole session. Her chaperone, Hope, came along and was a real help throughout.
Lauren’s style stands out. The goth and the country and Western elements might sound at odds, but they sit together well, and that mix gave us striking images that genuinely represent her as an artist. She poses and expresses herself naturally in front of the camera, so capturing her brand was easy.

I photograph musicians
Lauren is a singer and songwriter, and this shoot was made for her, not for a mood board. That is worth saying, because a lot of people find these images through the aesthetic and do not realise there is a working musician behind them.
Promo photography for musicians and bands is a regular part of what I do at the studio at Bentwaters. Press shots, artist portraits, band images, cover artwork and material for Spotify, socials and gig listings. A press shot has a job to do: it has to work as a small circle on a streaming profile and as a full-width banner on a venue website, and those are not the same photograph.
