Confident, Playful, and Boldly Expressive
This studio shoot with Justyna was creative from the first frame. Although the day had started with her supporting Karolina’s maternity session as a chaperone, it became clear that Justyna had a strong presence of her own. Once we had a break between setups, we used the time to create a standalone set of portraits that reflect Justyna’s vibrant personality and bold styling choices. This wasn’t a shared shoot. These are her own images, shaped by her character, styling, and the mood she brought into the space. Justyna embraced every look with full energy and confidence, making this session one of the standout shoots in the studio this summer.
We kept the same editorial approach used in Karolina’s shoot, but with styling and posing tailored entirely to Justyna. Her session explored humour, confidence, and a punch of attitude. These aren’t safe or formulaic portraits. They’re expressive, fun, and unapologetic. She brought her own interpretation to each idea, and the results are striking.
Look One: Summer Playfulness
Justyna wore a bright pink swimsuit, paired with a child’s inflatable swim ring and a translucent umbrella. The set was built on a pale blue background with clean high-key lighting. The image feels like a magazine cover pulled from the 90s, full of colour and irony. The pose is relaxed but sharp, giving a strong editorial finish.
Look Two and Three: Paper Tear Concept
In the paper tear setup, Justyna posed through a torn backdrop, suggesting she’s breaking into the frame. In one version, she gazes outward with a hand shielding her eyes. In another, she wears a structured black bra and sports jacket, leaning confidently into the set. These shots feel cinematic and theatrical. The torn paper becomes a visual metaphor for emergence and individuality.
Look Four: Red Domestic Satire
Here, Justyna stands at an ironing board in a bright red co-ord set. A clothesline behind her holds bold red and black lingerie. The image is framed like a domestic scene, but the expression is deliberate and serious. This setup plays with expectations. It comments on femininity, domestic roles, and how we present ourselves through performance and routine.
Look Five: Childhood Nostalgia
In one of the more surreal looks, Justyna wore a handmade bralette covered in colourful plastic charms and accessories. Styled with black underwear, the overall look is quirky and eccentric. The theme plays on nostalgia and the idea of growing up while still holding on to playfulness. It’s a joyful portrait, with enough strangeness to make it feel fashion editorial.
Look Six and Seven: Hat Conceal Series
For these, we returned to minimalism. Justyna posed topless, using a wide black hat to frame and shield her body. The difference across these frames is in the mood. One image is cheeky and lighthearted, the other soft and introspective. The use of shadow and shape lets the portraits speak for themselves. These were the most relaxed shots of the day and some of the most powerful.
Look Eight: Kiss Print Finale
The final look was a classic white shirt styled off the shoulders, paired with lipstick kiss marks across Justyna’s skin. The look is playful and sensual. It finishes the set with a confident nod to celebration and self-image. The lighting was warm and focused to bring out the contrast between skin, fabric, and the kiss details.
Shooting with Justyna was a reminder that portraiture is never just about appearance. It’s about attitude, trust, and creative exchange. Every frame from this session shows someone fully engaged in the process and unafraid to bring ideas to life. The studio setup allowed for fast transitions between looks and kept the energy high throughout. Justyna’s versatility and willingness to experiment made this session a genuine collaboration. Her portraits don’t follow a single style. They tell different stories and reflect different moods. This is what makes portrait photography such an important space for expression. You don’t need a milestone to justify a shoot. If you feel like celebrating who you are in this moment, that’s reason enough.
