As a professional photographer based in Suffolk, I have worked with businesses of all sizes, from small start-ups to established firms. The work often takes me behind the scenes, showing products and services at their best. One recent project shows what good commercial and product photography can do. I worked with a local company, STA Technical.
Based in East Anglia, STA Technical is a small business with a strong commitment to supporting local enterprises. They value local partnerships wherever possible. They asked me to photograph their Grade Labels & Pipework ID.
To understand the brief, you need to understand STA Technical’s focus on quality and innovation. Their grade label and holder system was designed to engineer out issues common to forecourt components. It has no sharp corners and uses rubber safety edging, and the clamping system was revamped to make mounting quicker and simpler.
STA also applied technology first developed for the aviation industry. The result is a range of laminated labels that are weatherproof, UV resistant, temperature stable and easy to clean.
Details like these deserve proper representation, which is where commercial and product photography earns its place. Good images inform and engage potential customers and create a strong first impression, which matters given how quickly people move on online.
For a business like STA Technical, product photography is about more than showing the product. It captures the thought that went into it: the design, the safety features, the easy mounting. Good images make those features clear and give a sense of scale, detail and use.
The value goes beyond looks. Strong images improve the experience on a website, make it easier to navigate and give visitors what they need to decide. They can also help with search rankings, making a site easier to find.
My aim on the project was to photograph the products and reflect the thinking behind them and the values STA stand for. The images now sit on their website, showing the grade labels and holder systems and reinforcing the point that local businesses in Suffolk and East Anglia do well to support each other.
At Foyers Photography, I bring commercial and product photography to businesses that want to communicate their value clearly.
