Musician and Band Promo Photography Rates (Suffolk) → Pricing
I photograph aspiring and established musicians and bands who need clean, confident promo images for press, posters, releases, and social media. These sessions are straightforward, well-structured, and designed to feel relaxed, even if you have never done this before. You can book for a solo artist, a duo, or a full band, and we can shoot in my studio at Bentwaters near Woodbridge, or on location if that suits your sound and visual style better.
Pricing

The booking fee secures your studio slot and covers the work that happens before you purchase any images. This is a non-refundable booking fee.

From £10
This service is designed around a simple structure. You book the session, we shoot, I prepare an edited gallery, you mark the images you want, and I invoice you for those.
How it works
Booking.
You book your session date by paying the £100 non-refundable session booking fee. This fee is the same whether you are booking as a solo artist, a duo, or a full band, and it is not charged per person. It secures your studio time and covers the work that happens before you purchase any images, including preparation and building your proof gallery.
Shoot.
The session focuses on creating a range of promo-ready images, typically including clean portraits, three-quarter, and full-length frames, with a mix of individual and group options where needed. I will guide you throughout, particularly on posture, hands, spacing, and expression. The session lasts up to 3 hours.
Edited gallery.
After the shoot, I go through the full set and prepare a curated selection in my Standard Edit style. This stage takes time because I am checking focus and expression, balancing exposure and colour, and keeping the set consistent across the whole shoot. Once the edits are complete, I upload the finished selection to your private online gallery so you can review everything and choose what you would like to purchase. Please allow 14 to 21 days for your gallery to be ready.
Purchase and download.
You mark the images you want at £10 per image. I invoice you, and once that is settled I email you a download link for your digital files. You do not have to choose everything at once. You can come back to your gallery later and ask for more images whenever you need them.

Important
Studio or on location
I prefer to photograph musicians and band promo sessions in my studio at Bentwaters near Woodbridge. It gives me full control of lighting, consistency, and the overall look, which is especially useful when you want a cohesive set of images for press, streaming profiles, posters, and ongoing promo.
That said, I am happy to photograph local on-location sessions if you want a specific environment that fits your sound or brand. Location shoots are planned in advance so we can choose a setting that works visually and logistically, and so we have a clear plan for the light and timings.
Mileage for location sessions is charged at 60p per mile.

Band press shots, planning, and licensing
Studio or on location
I prefer to photograph musician and band promo sessions in my studio at Bentwaters near Woodbridge, as it gives me full control of lighting, consistency, and the overall look.
I am also happy to photograph local on-location sessions if you want an environment that fits your sound or brand. Location shoots are planned in advance so we can choose a setting that works visually and logistically.
What to bring
- Two outfit options each (even if you expect to use one).
- A simple group colour palette so the set feels intentional.
- Instruments only if you want them in shot (cases can stay close by).
- Any brand-defining items (jacket, accessory, stage item) if they matter to your identity.
- Water and a snack, particularly for larger groups.
What makes a strong set of press shots
I aim to create a set that works across multiple platforms and use cases, not just one image.
- One clean group shot suitable for press and listings.
- A tighter group variation with more attitude and energy.
- Individual portraits for each member (useful for bios and features).
- Landscape options with negative space for posters and banners.
- Consistent lighting and colour so your visuals look cohesive.
Editing, gallery, and delivery
After the shoot, I go through the full set and prepare a curated selection in my Standard Edit style. This takes time because I am checking focus and expression, balancing exposure and colour, and keeping the set consistent.
Once the edits are complete, I upload the finished selection to your private online gallery so you can review everything and choose what you would like to purchase.
You mark the images you want at £10 per image. I invoice you, and once that is settled I email you a download link for your digital files. You do not have to choose everything at once. You can come back later and ask for more images whenever you need them.
Cover artwork and third-party use
What is included: Your purchased images are licensed for your own music promotion (your website, social media, EPKs, press releases, posters, flyers, and streaming platform profiles).
What is not included: Album, single, and EP cover artwork (digital or physical), and any use by a label, distributor, publisher, PR agency, designer, venue, festival, or other third party.
Under 18s and safeguarding
If any band member is under 18, a legal parent or guardian must attend the session in person for the full duration. Another band member cannot act as the supervising adult.
Chaperones are welcome for any age. I am used to working with chaperones and it is never a problem.
Band FAQs
Is the £100 booking fee per person?
No. The £100 session booking fee is per session, regardless of how many people are in the band.
Can we do individual portraits as well as group shots?
Yes. For most bands this is the most useful approach, as it supports press features and bios as well as posters and listings.
What if one band member cannot attend?
If you tell me in advance, I can plan around it. If it is last minute, it will limit group combinations, but we can still produce strong individual portraits and partial group options.
Can you plan for release dates?
Yes. Tell me your key dates when booking. Please remember the edited gallery takes time to prepare and upload, so earlier planning gives you the most flexibility.
