Portrait photography lets me capture and celebrate what makes each person individual. At my studio, Foyers Photography, I specialise in portraits and headshots, and I always enjoy working with people who want to express themselves through the camera.
One of my recent portrait shoots was with Lucy, who was a joy to work with. She has a natural radiance that shines through in her photographs. Beyond that, she is a talented footballer, and the energy and athleticism from the pitch came through in her movements and expressions.
I take a lot of care to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera, which is what lets a portrait look authentic rather than posed. For this session we worked in my studio in the old military town of Bentwaters, near Ipswich, which has the space, lighting and backdrops for a range of looks.
As the shoot progressed, Lucy and I explored everything from formal, traditional portraits to relaxed, candid shots. Whether she stood tall and confident or eased into something more natural, she was a natural in front of the camera and her enthusiasm carried the day.
