I love a themed photoshoot. The extra structure adds fun and a bit of challenge, and it pushes me to try new techniques. Recently I worked on a white-themed studio portrait shoot with my good friend and muse, Isabelle.
Working with Isabelle is always a pleasure. She is a talented model and a good friend, and we have collaborated many times before. For this shoot we settled on a white theme, which let us experiment with lighting and aim for a classic, timeless look.
The session took place at my studio, Foyers Photography, in Bentwaters near Ipswich. Before we started, Isabelle and I talked through the images we wanted and gathered a range of white clothing and accessories to bring the theme to life.
We tried several lighting setups, from soft, diffuse light to more dramatic, high-contrast work, to build variety across the set. Isabelle moved between poses and expressions with real ease, and I was thrilled with the images we made together.
We ended with a striking collection of white-themed portraits, each one distinct. It was a creative, enjoyable day, and I look forward to more themed sessions. You can see more of my portrait work.
