Bick and Pidgeon
Best friends Steffi and Emily are an intelligent and vivacious pair, that were an absolute pleasure to work with last week. I have known Steffi for a while now and she has featured and collaborated in my photography for the last couple of years. Steffi and Emily are now training as makeup artists and are in the process of establishing their exciting new business; Bick and Pidgeon. They both had the pre-thought to get their social media profiles up and running and actively build their social reputation so once fully qualified as makeup artists their brand will be very much established and ‘out there’.
The idea behind this photo shoot was to show the faces of the brand and the fun and enthusiasm that this bubbly and high energy pair have. Unlike Steffi, Emily is not quite so used to being in front of the camera and so I wanted to reassure her and build up her confidence at this early stage so that in the future when we do more in-depth portraits of their talents they are both comfortable to be the model whilst the other does the makeup. The photo shoot was a great laugh and once Emily began to gain confidence in front of the camera the shoot came to be a great success resulting in lots of fantastic photographs for them use on their social media accounts.
The importance of social media
Both Steffi and Emily love Instagram and understand the importance of being actively involved in social media. With this in mind when they came to the studio we made sure that we got plenty of different looks from the shoot. This allows them to drip feed their Instagram and other social media (Twitter and Facebook) posts with fresh images with very minimal effort.
Steffi & Emily finish their course in December, by which time they will be fully qualified and will have already built up a great social presence and awareness which will allow them to spring board into their new careers.
I really do wish these great girls the very best in their new venture and look forward to working alongside them on future photo shoots. Watch this space!
