Shuttercraft Suffolk: photographing shutters at their best
Having already completed one photo shoot for Shuttercraft Suffolk, I was asked back again last week to photograph some of the shutters and blinds they had installed in a private home. The house was not far from me, so it was a short trip from my base in Peasenhall.
The house had a modern, contemporary feel without losing the sense of being a real family home, and the blinds and shutters only added to that. It was a pleasure to be allowed to photograph the place, and I thank the owners for their hospitality. When you photograph someone’s home you have to respect their space while still getting the images the client needs. As these photos were for Shuttercraft and not the owners, I was careful to keep personal photos and family items out of shot where they weren’t relevant to the final result.
Niall Darke owns and runs Shuttercraft Suffolk with his wife Lyndsay, and they are your local Shuttercraft surveyors and installers. Theirs is a local, family run business that prides itself on giving customers the best service across the Ipswich, Lowestoft and Felixstowe area. With over 25 years in the industry, they have real knowledge and experience in surveying and fitting shutters. That shows in the work, and it means I have to study each image carefully to do it justice.
While I was taking these photographs, Lyndsay told me they had already won business directly from the earlier photography I did at the Ufford Crown, and were using the images to build a bigger social media presence, including their new Instagram account.
It is always a pleasure to be asked back by a client. It tells me they were happy with the first shoot, and I firmly believe a good working relationship between photographer and client is what leads to a better understanding of what they need. That understanding is what gives you images the client can use with confidence to promote their business.
