It’s not every day I take inspiration from Harry Styles of One Direction, but on this shoot we did just that. From the start, Catherine from Portobello East Coast in Halesworth, Suffolk, and I knew we wanted something a little avant-garde, and Jake was the perfect model to help us get there. The shoot itself was electric. There was a great atmosphere, and despite it being Jake’s first time in front of a camera he really came into his own, so we came away with some fantastic photos. Catherine brought along an impressive array of outfits and vintage clothing that were good fun to work with.
Catherine needed images for her social media, and she knew professional photography was the way forward. A good-quality image works far harder than an out-of-focus, run-of-the-mill photo taken on a phone. My studio at Bentwaters, Suffolk, is set up perfectly for this kind of shoot, and I’m pleased to say we got a strong selection of images, many of which are yet to be released. Fashion photography helps communicate a brand’s story and promote the store’s goods. It sits under the wider heading of commercial photography, and it has moved with the times, so I hope these images carry a sense of the modern. You could file fashion under portraiture too, but I like to keep the two apart and treat them differently, because in fashion the focus is on the clothes, not the person. If commercial photography would suit your business’s website and social media, take a look at my rates and previous examples of my work. For any questions, feel free to contact me.
