I recently spent a rewarding day with the East Coast Creatives (ECC), a collective of models, photographers, makeup artists, and hair stylists at every stage of experience. We gathered at Drayton Drewery, better known as The Mystical Woods, in Norfolk near Norwich. The quiet setting made an ideal backdrop for a day of headshot photography.
Every model brought their own energy and style, from newcomers to those with a full portfolio behind them. Their input in front of the camera and behind the scenes, sharing feedback and ideas, made the day work.
As a professional photographer, I find working alongside peers genuinely useful. Everyone, from keen amateurs to seasoned veterans, brought their own strengths, and the day became a real exchange of ideas and skills. I value that kind of collaboration and the chance to see things differently.
No shoot would be complete without our makeup artists and hair stylists. Their work behind the scenes turned a natural, flawless look or a bold, striking one into reality, with care and real attention to detail.
Surrounded by the woods, Ipswich and Suffolk felt far away, yet the day still tied back to our studio near Woodbridge. It showed how well the ECC adapts and creates strong images in different settings.
The photoshoot at Drayton Drewery was a day to remember, and a reminder of what happens when a mixed group of creatives works towards a shared goal. I am grateful to have been part of it.
If you would like to be part of something like this, whether in the woods of Norfolk or our studio near Woodbridge, there is a place for you in the ECC.
