There are few events that fire me up quite like a Pride march. Norwich Pride is one of the highlights of my year, and photographing it as an ally means a great deal to me.
Pride is a day for celebration, visibility and solidarity. It is a chance for people to express themselves, embrace who they are and come together in the name of love and equality. The colour, the costumes and the messages people carry make it one of the most rewarding days to point a camera at.
On the day, I follow the procession as it winds through the city, capturing the atmosphere and the huge range of people who turn out to support the cause. My role goes beyond taking pictures. I am there to stand with the LGBTQ community and show my support for their rights and their equality.
In my work I try to meet every subject with an open mind and no judgement. Love is love, whoever you are, and it is an honour to use my camera to document and celebrate a day that shows the community at its best.
