I recently photographed an unusual fashion shoot in Suffolk, and it is one I wanted to share. Makeup artist Andżelika Kurek, model Roksana A. Foltyn, and I, Bob Foyers of Foyers Photography, teamed up on it. Andżelika, who is based in Norwich, Norfolk, needed promotional photography for her website and social media, and she had a concept in mind.
Her idea was for Roksana and herself to wear an outfit made from brown paper and take on the shape of a floral bouquet. She had brought in plenty of flowers, and the two of them put the concept together beautifully. The brown paper gave a rustic look that sat well against the bright flowers, and the contrast made the images memorable.
To keep the mood light and fashion-led, we shot against a white seamless background. The results had a fresh, spring feel with a clear fashion edge.
Andżelika did not just do the makeup, she stepped in front of the lens too. She brought out Roksana’s features and her own, all in keeping with the look of the shoot, which showed real versatility. Roksana’s experience as a model added to it, and her guidance helped Andżelika, who is fairly new to modelling. Both worked to the theme well.
The whole shoot was good fun, and a simple brown paper and flowers idea turned into a set of promotional photos that went beyond what we had planned. You can see more of this kind of work in my portrait portfolio.
