As a photographer based in Suffolk, specialising in commercial, product, headshot, and portrait photography, my studio at Bentwaters near Woodbridge has been the setting for many unique and inspiring photoshoots. This includes a recent fitness photoshoot with Sophia, a project that resonates with both personal commitment and philanthropic endeavour.
The Journey of Collaboration: Three Photoshoots with Sophia
Sophia has been a recurring client and a delightful muse for my lens. Our third photoshoot was particularly significant. After our second collaboration, Sophia shared her ambitious goal of running the Paris Marathon on 7 April 2024. Her determination and spirit moved me, and it sparked the idea of a fitness photoshoot. Working with Sophia has always been a professional and joyful experience. Her dedication, mirrored in our photoshoots, brings a unique energy that enhances the final images.
A Photoshoot with Purpose: Highlighting Fitness and Strength
The objective of this photoshoot was to highlight Sophia’s fitness journey. In the controlled environment of my studio, we experimented with various shooting styles. We employed Rembrandt lighting, edge lighting, and gelled lighting, each technique playing a vital role in accentuating Sophia’s physical strength and the intensity of her training.
Sophia’s Story: Running for a Cause
This photoshoot was more than just capturing fitness; it was about telling a story. Sophia runs in honour of her grandmother, Sandra Hurlin, who is bravely living with Alzheimer’s disease. Inspired by her grandfather, Tony Hurlin, a seasoned marathon runner, Sophia’s journey is fuelled by love and determination. Her commitment extends beyond personal achievement; she runs to fight against Alzheimer’s, a cause she holds close to her heart.
Why Alzheimer’s UK?
Alzheimer’s UK represents hope and support for those affected by dementia. With an estimated 900,000 people in the UK living with this condition, the organisation’s work in providing care, conducting research, and advocating for the voiceless is crucial. Sophia’s participation in the Paris Marathon is not just a physical challenge but also a means to contribute to this noble cause.
Your Role in This Journey
Each stride Sophia takes in Paris symbolises a step towards a world free from Alzheimer’s. Your support, through donations, can make a significant impact. Contributions to Alzheimer’s UK fund essential services and research, offering hope to many families dealing with this condition. By adding Gift Aid to your donation, you amplify the impact of your contribution.
Join the Fight Against Alzheimer’s
I invite you to join us in this meaningful endeavour. Your contribution, regardless of size, can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by dementia. Together, we can shed light on this issue and support Sophia in her marathon run, a race against Alzheimer’s for a brighter, more hopeful future.
