With the festive season just around the corner, I was delighted when Sophie got in touch to arrange a Christmassy portrait session for her and her lovely family. Having already photographed Sophie I felt it a compliment that she chose to return to my services, bringing along husband Ben and kids Isaac and Bella. While I had them in the studio we decided it would make sense to take some traditional portraits and then move onto the fun Christmas themed shoot. We had so much fun, the kids were wonderful, (if a little cheeky), and we managed to get some great family photos that I hope will be treasured for years to come.
The kids absolutely loved the Christmas part of the shoot, with all the family in their Christmas jumpers they looked suitably festive and ready for some fun! We had the kids pulling faces and being reindeers, much to their delight. A big thank you to Ben and Sophie for allowing me to share these pictures, as well as a short behind the scenes video.
With Christmas just around the corner and time running away with us, these photos make the perfect present for family, especially grandparents. I try to keep the whole session calm and quiet so children don’t become too overwhelmed and unable to settle for their photo to be taken. That said, we always have a giggle and keep it light-hearted and fun. Whilst sessions typically take around 45 minutes to an hour there is absolutely no pressure from myself in terms of time, and if it overruns that is not a problem.
If you would like your family portrait taken please take a look at some more examples of my work, and feel free to get in touch. If you are looking to have some photos taken in time for Christmas don’t delay! Spaces are now very limited. Merry Christmas!
