Commercial work takes me somewhere new most weeks. This one took me to Norwich Theatre Stage Two, where Snapdragon Cabaret asked me to photograph the preparation before their Halloween show went up.
Behind The Lens at Norwich Theatre Stage Two
Norwich Theatre Stage Two opened in 2016 and has grown into a home for performers, with a 120-seat studio theatre, rehearsal studios and training spaces where audiences and artists both get room to experiment.
The Snapdragon Cabaret: A Canvas of Self-Expression
Snapdragon Cabaret is one part of Norwich’s performing arts scene. Led by Mad Dame Rouge, Harry Stallion, Titania Fae and Lady Cleo, the troupe builds its shows around body positivity, self-expression and local talent.
Chronicle of The Halloween Evening: Event Photography in Action
As the light dropped, the dressing rooms filled with rustling costumes and last-minute rehearsals, and that energy spilled out into the corridors. My job was to catch the pre-show adrenaline against the Halloween mood.
This was my fourth shoot with Snapdragon Cabaret. That history brings a level of trust that lets me work in close without getting in the way.
The Heartbeat of Norfolk’s Performing Arts
Every frame from the evening is a record of Norwich and Norfolk’s growing performing arts scene, and the cabaret’s mix of performers sits right at the centre of it.
The Continuum: A Forward Glance
With the images archived, I am already looking to the next show. Event photography keeps opening new doors, each night a slightly different challenge.
If you are planning an event or commercial shoot in Norfolk and want it documented properly, get in touch and we can talk it through.
