Headshot photography has always been an area of personal interest and passion, and I’ve had the privilege of working on various headshot and portrait projects throughout Norwich, Norfolk. Yet, the recent collaboration with East Coast Creatives has truly been a breath of fresh air, and I’m excited to share the details of our latest photoshoot at Plantation Gardens, Norwich.
Plantation Gardens is a hidden gem in Norwich, with its towering trees, charming flower beds, and fascinating gothic fountain. It’s a romantic Victorian-style town garden that offers an array of stunning backgrounds perfect for headshot photography and portraits. I’ve always admired the secluded, tranquil atmosphere of the place, and having the chance to hold a photo shoot in this remarkable location was an extraordinary experience.
Working with the East Coast Creatives, a group of talented individuals from various fields – photographers, models, hair stylists, and makeup artists, has allowed me to challenge myself and expand my creative horizons. I am continually amazed by their collaborative spirit and dedication to producing high-quality photography. It’s fascinating how we bring our diverse skills to the table and create magic in unison.
On this beautiful day, the weather was on our side, painting a picturesque canvas for us to work on. Yet, as a photographer, I have always had a penchant for including elements of flash photography in my work, blending it with ambient light to produce a unique effect. This technique allows me to balance the brightness and darkness in the image and add an extra layer of depth. The challenge was to use this approach in a natural setting, under the clear blue sky, and it turned out to be a delightful experiment.
Our models for the day were simply phenomenal, bringing their individual styles to the shoot. They wore street-style clothing that not only highlighted their personalities but also added a certain element of vibrance to the photos. Their energy and readiness to adapt allowed us to extend our creative boundaries beyond the Gardens.
Just around the corner from the Plantation Gardens, we discovered an underpass filled with vibrant graffiti, a site too intriguing to pass up. We took full advantage of the area, getting some colourful and dynamic shots with our models under the underpass. These images beautifully contrasted with the more traditional ones taken at the Gardens, providing a diverse portfolio from this photoshoot.
Being a part of East Coast Creative is more than just a professional opportunity for me; it’s a means of self-expression. It allows me to experiment with my photography and network with other creatives. There’s something truly special about working together as a team, bouncing off each other’s ideas, and producing something extraordinary.
Every photoshoot with this team leaves me in awe of the shots we are able to capture, and this day at the Plantation Gardens in Norwich was no different. We were able to create a striking set of headshots and portraits, capturing the beauty of our models and the location, with a splash of our unique styles.
As I reflect on this fantastic experience, my anticipation builds for next month’s meeting with East Coast Creative. I am excited to see where our creative journey will lead us next, the stunning locations we will explore, and the magical moments we will capture. Until then, I’ll be honing my photography skills, ready to bring my best to the table.
