I approached this shoot with real anticipation: a Celtic-themed session with Polly. We had spent hours building a Pinterest board, talking through concepts and planning the detail, and it was finally time to bring it to life.
The focus was Polly’s youthful energy alongside a nod to Celtic culture. We started with some classic portraits in the studio, using Rembrandt lighting to bring warmth to her features.
Dressed in rustic attire, we wanted a strong Celtic feel to the images. Polly looked wonderful, each frame carrying a sense of heritage and tradition.
With the studio work done, we headed to Tunstall Wood in Suffolk. The weather was wild, with strong winds through the canopy, but we were set on getting the outdoor portraits we had planned. Using flash against the daylight gave the images an otherworldly quality, setting Polly’s warmth against the untamed Suffolk landscape.
I could not be happier with the results. Polly was professional and a pleasure to photograph throughout.
I am a Suffolk photographer near Woodbridge, with a studio in Ipswich for indoor portraits. This Celtic project was a good reminder of how much range a single shoot can hold.
