Halesworth is a small market town in the Suffolk countryside, with a history going back to the Saxon period. Portobello East Coast, owned by Catherine, is a vintage clothing shop in the town, a treasure trove of styles and designs from every decade.
Recently the shop worked with Roma, a talented singer, who modelled a range of vintage outfits and brought real glamour to each one.
Roma wore:
- a Biba two-piece Angel sleeve dress with opera cape, in silver cotton velvet
- a bohemian-style silk wedding dress
- an Ossie Clark button-down maxi in Moss crepe and satin, an iconic 1970s design
- a Bill Gibb for Harrods two-piece pantaloon set
- a Christian Dior by John Galliano satin smoking jacket
- an Ossie Clark day dress in Celia Birtwell’s poppy design fabric
- an Ossie Clark Moss crepe maxi dress
- a Bill Gibb four-piece outfit
- a Baccarat suede two-piece dress with gilet
- a Yves Saint Laurent 1980s power skirt suit with shoulder-pad jacket and pencil skirt
- an Ann Buck 1970s dress in cutout leather and Moss crepe
Each piece was a work of art in its own right, and Roma carried them all with style. Whether you love vintage fashion or simply want something unique, Portobello East Coast is well worth a visit.
