I always enjoy working with other talented people, and recently I had the privilege of collaborating with Courtney, a gifted makeup artist from Norwich, Norfolk, on a striking avant-garde photoshoot at Foyers Photography in Bentwaters, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Courtney’s passion for makeup goes well beyond the ordinary. The way she blends colours, textures and emotion into finished looks is remarkable, and every design brought real life to the frame.
The session was drag-inspired, aiming for the bold, inventive spirit of the avant-garde. For that we needed the right model, and Alfie was an excellent choice. He adapts easily to different roles and moods, and his confidence in front of the camera gave every portrait extra depth.
The understanding between Courtney and Alfie made the whole shoot feel effortless, and it let us push past conventional portraiture. Together we made a set of images that show off Courtney’s makeup and Alfie’s range, and they now sit in Courtney’s portfolio.
