I always enjoy the chance to work alongside other people in the industry, so I was glad to join East Coast Creatives, a community of creatives from Norfolk and Suffolk, for a photo shoot at Waterloo Park in Norwich. The day brought together models, makeup artists, hairstylists and fellow photographers.
Waterloo Park is a Grade II* listed public park, designed in the 1930s by Captain Arnold Sandys-Winsch and built by unemployed men using government funding. Its character and landscaping made a good backdrop, and the weather stayed kind, with warm light and a gentle breeze through the trees.
As a member of East Coast Creatives, or ECC for short, I value the sense of community the group builds. Talented people work together in a friendly, safe environment, sharing ideas and inspiring each other, and it doubles as a good social and networking event.
Everyone involved brought real skill to the day. The models posed well against the setting, the makeup artists and hairstylists produced looks suited to the outdoor light, and the photographers worked steadily throughout.
I’m Bob Foyers, owner of Foyers Photography, with my studio at Bentwaters, Woodbridge, Suffolk. Days like this let me sharpen my own work and build lasting connections with other professionals.
The photographs we came away with show what happens when a group like this pulls in the same direction. If you’re a creative based in Norfolk or Suffolk, joining East Coast Creatives is well worth it.
