What to Wear & Bring for Your Dating Profile Shoot
The best dating photos look like the real you, having a good time. We are after images that feel warm, genuine and approachable, the ones that make someone want to say hello.
A dating profile works when it feels honest. People scroll straight past anything that looks staged or stiff. So we keep things relaxed, shoot a mix of looks, and give you photos that show the person a match would actually meet.
Start here
The basics
Wear what feels like you
If you feel good in it, it shows in your face. Comfort reads as confidence on camera.
Bring a couple of looks
One dressed-up look and one relaxed look give your profile variety without a full change every few minutes.
Fit matters most
Choose colours that suit you and clothes that fit well. Nothing baggy or swamping, which only adds bulk.
Real smiles win
Posed grins rarely land. We will chat and keep it easy, so the smiles are the real ones.
Keep your face visible
Save the sunglasses and low hats for later frames. Your main shots want your eyes on show.

Good to know
Questions people ask
I am awkward in front of a camera. Will you help me?
That is most people, so you are in good company. I direct as we go, give you something to do with your hands, and keep it conversational. The relaxed frames between the posed ones are usually the ones that work.
How many looks should I bring?
Two or three is plenty. One dressed-up, one relaxed, and perhaps one that shows a hobby. That gives your profile variety without every photo looking like the same moment.
Should I smile, or go for something moodier?
A warm, genuine smile does the heavy lifting on a dating profile. We can shoot a couple of quieter, more considered looks too, so you have range, but the approachable ones tend to get the hellos.
Can we shoot outdoors as well as in the studio?
We can. A mix of studio and outdoor gives your profile a natural, lived-in feel. Tell me when you book and we will plan the setting together.
