A Suffolk wedding at Seckford Hall
Tess and Alex’s wedding was, quite simply, a joy to photograph. They took the planning in their stride with little or no stress, and it showed on the day.
With Tess’s parents living in Woodbridge, it was the perfect place to get ready in a cosy family home, where the talented hair stylist and artist Lydia Brooks did the bride’s and bridesmaids’ hair in comfortable surroundings.
Tess and Alex married at the quintessentially British St Mary’s church in Great Bealings, simply and elegantly dressed with wild flowers. The church held a special family connection, as Tess’s parents were married there too. Tess wore a beautiful dress by Allure, called Portia, in ivory from The Tailors Cat in Cambridge. It is a delicate design with intricate lace detailing, a scalloped v-neckline, an elegant deep back and a soft puddle train. Her classic shoes were by Freya Rose. Alex looked every part the dashing groom in a traditional morning suit.
After the ceremony, a short drive took us to Seckford Hall, where the sun shone as guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the grounds. The staff did a fantastic job looking after everyone and made the day one to remember. After the meal came the speeches, and I have to admit I forgot my job for a moment and found myself laughing along with the guests at one of the best best man’s speeches I have ever heard.
In a nod to Alex’s Italian heritage, coffee and grappa were served by his father in the Great Hall, one of many personal touches through the day. As the day drew to a close, the cake was cut and the band struck up as the evening guests arrived. The SERIOUS Hat Band played the rest of the night, and they come highly recommended. Have a look at their Facebook page for more.
This was a wonderful day to be part of, and we wish Tess and Alex a lifetime of happiness together. If you are planning your own day, you can see more of my Suffolk wedding photography and what a booking involves.
