Recently I photographed my first ever hen party, and I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I had never been part of one before, so I went in with an open mind. The bride, her close friends and her family were a pleasure to work with, and it wasn’t long before the room was full of laughter and the clinking of Prosecco glasses.
A relaxed way to spend time together
A hen party photoshoot is a lovely way to spend time with the people closest to you. Not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera, especially in a group where they may not know everyone well. My approach makes sure nobody feels singled out, apart from the bride, of course. With easy conversation and a bit of light-hearted fun, the whole thing stays relaxed.
Confidence before the wedding day
For the bride, a session like this is a good chance to get used to being photographed. By the time the wedding arrives, you will feel more at ease in front of the lens, and the pictures will look natural rather than staged. Those genuine moments are the ones worth keeping. A hen shoot works in the same relaxed way as one of my portrait sessions, just with more of a party to it.
Sessions usually run between one and a half and two hours, and the price depends on the number of people and any particular requests. If you are thinking about it, send me as much detail as you can and I can give you an accurate quote.
About Foyers Photography
I’m Bob Foyers, a commercial photographer based at Bentwaters, near Woodbridge in Suffolk. The studio is a calm, comfortable space for a shoot, but I am just as happy to travel to a place of your choosing, whether that is a country house or somewhere in town. The main aim is that you and your friends have a good time while we make the pictures.
Alongside hen parties, I also cover wedding, portrait, commercial and event photography, so I can adapt to most situations. A hen party shoot is a brilliant way to celebrate with your closest friends and family, and a gentle way to settle any nerves about being photographed on the day itself. If you would like to know more, get in touch and I will be glad to help.
