This past weekend I took a quick break on the North Norfolk coast to see family, and I couldn’t resist a bit of landscape photography while I was there. Hunstanton beach is a fine spot for it. The red and white striped cliffs, a band of carrstone sitting under chalk, are a sight you won’t find anywhere else on this coast.
I spend most of my working life in the studio, so a wide beach and a big sky make a welcome change. Even with plenty of visitors about, I found space to work and frame the cliffs against the long stretch of sand. I’d like to go back when the weather is rougher. A bit of wind and cloud would add some drama to the scene.
Landscape photography on commission
Landscape work is part of what I do professionally, but it is also how I switch off. Recently I was commissioned privately to photograph a landscape from a client’s home, which was a real pleasure. There is something satisfying about capturing a place that means a great deal to someone and giving them a print they can live with.
If there is a spot that is close to your heart and you would like it photographed, I am happy to help. The aim is a picture that shows the place as it is and holds on to why it matters to you.
About Foyers Photography
I’m Bob Foyers, the photographer behind Foyers Photography, based at Bentwaters near Woodbridge in Suffolk. Most of my work is commercial, but the same care goes into every frame, whether it is a product, a portrait or the cliffs at Hunstanton. I’ll keep heading out with the camera whenever a location catches my eye, and I look forward to the next one.
