Martin Dobson Couture Bridal Shoot, Woodhall Manor

I recently photographed a collaborative wedding dress shoot with a team of my favourite suppliers: Martin Dobson Couture, Innov8 Hair Studio, Woodhall Manor and Bespoke Celebration Cakes, the last of these coming all the way from Nantwich in Cheshire.

Martin is a brilliant wedding dress designer and I always enjoy working with him; he has real creative flair and we always have a good time. This time we headed to Woodhall Manor, a beautiful 16th century Elizabethan manor house. The grade II listed building makes a wonderful wedding venue, and the staff could not have been more helpful.

The team

Our models for the day were Fay, Sophie and Sheera, and all three were a pleasure to work with. It always makes for a good day when the models and suppliers are so easy to get along with.

Hair was by Melanie Grimwood and her team at Innov8 Hair Studio in Saxmundham. I love working with Melanie; the day always flies by and we always nail the brief. Make-up was by Samantha Felton, also from Innov8. Ever the professional, Samantha listened to what we wanted and gave the models soft, romantic looks that suited them perfectly, letting Martin’s bespoke dresses and Melanie’s hairstyles do the talking.

The wedding cake was made by Fiona from Bespoke Celebration Cakes, who travelled down from Cheshire for the shoot. Fiona’s speciality is creating cakes that match the bride’s dress. You can follow her on Instagram to see more of her work.

My recent clients Emma and Joey, who married in Woodbridge not long ago, even joined me at Woodhall Manor to relive their day with a photograph at sunset. A lovely way to finish a great day of collaboration.
