From the start to finish it was such a pleasure to be a part of Tina and Malcolm’s special day. Their intimate wedding ceremony was performed at Shire Hall in Woodbridge which is one of my favourite locations in Suffolk.
This Elizabethan Grade 1 listed building is packed full of beautiful photography opportunities and as you can see in these photos, the light in the ceremony room is just stunning.
I was struck by the warmth of love from this small group of family and close friends. One of the joys of a relaxed wedding like Malcolm and Tina’s is that everyone knows everyone and that intimacy really adds to the magic of the day.
After the ceremony, a relative of Malcolm’s, who had travelled all the way from Austria, serenaded the happy couple on a ukulele – a quirky touch which really showcased the couple’s individuality.
If you’ve already spotted the couple’s wedding car you are not the only one! It was a 1964 Rover P4 95 affectionately known as Clara. Malcolm’s parents were particularly enamoured with the car which they said took them right back to their first car after they got married.
Clara’s Chauffeur was on hand to provide a bottle of bubbly for the happy couple as they took their first journey as a husband and wife to their reception venue, the stunning Seckford Hall.
I arrived at the lavish Tudor Mansion in time to set up ready for the wedding car to crunch down the gravel pathway. It looked like a scene from an ITV Period drama and when Tina stepped from the car, looking stunning in her peacock blue wedding gown with Malcolm on her arm, the scene was complete.
As always Seckford Hall went above and beyond in welcoming the wedding party and everything from canapes to their friendly staff was wonderful.
I have to say; the wedding party’s well-coordinated colour scheme made the group portraits a treat to photograph! I took the group to the gardens overlooking the walled garden and then, whilst the party enjoyed a glass of champagne, Malcolm and Tina followed me to the bandstand to shoot some special photos with just the two of them.
An excellent meal and some great speeches topped off a fantastic day full of romance and emotion. I love shooting weddings, and this was a particular favourite of mine.
