Every now and then I get asked to do a job and I have my expectations totally blown out of the water. Niall and Bryony’s wedding is a perfect example of this. They chose a simple registry office ceremony in the morning followed by an outdoor blessing with their friends and loved ones in the afternoon. This wonderful couple and their amazing families worked hard to pull off a fun DIY wedding, full of laughter and love.
I started my day in the chaos of Niall’s parents’ house as the bride and groom were welcoming friends and family. I then rode with them in the car to Ipswich Registry Office and it was nice to have a catch-up and hear their thoughts on the day ahead. They had an intimate ceremony with just their parents present and I was able to really focus on capturing the emotion of the occasion.
We headed back to the venue where the bride and groom split up to get ready for the second part of their day. The bride and her beautiful bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done in an attractive grade 2 listed property. The couple had asked me for plenty of unposed, natural shots and I had great fun using the unusual features and the fantastic light in the property to create photos I hope this couple will cherish for many years to come. I split my time between both parties (luckily next door to each other) and was able to capture some great moments of the groom alongside his cheeky and entertaining groomsmen too!
Luckily the weather held out and by the time the speeches were finished it brightened up and the guests were able to enjoy their drinks and food outside in the warm afternoon sun while playing vintage games.
I think you’ll agree that the sunset photo of the couple is pretty special, you can take a look at more examples of my recent work here.
