As a professional photographer, there is no feeling more exhilarating than when one of your projects is appreciated in an entirely different form and your work is given the opportunity to evolve into a new art. I am so happy to announce that I can tick a new venture off my bucket list, as an image from the pomegranate shoot, from one of my personal projects titled Artistic Food, has been featured as the cover art for a CD!
Thanks to technology the world has become infinitely smaller, allowing artists to broadcast their art worldwide and therefore be recognised globally. Cláudio Motta, a Brazilian musician, came across the image from the pomegranate shoot via a Google Image search. He kindly contacted me and expressed that he wished to use my piece as the artwork for his CD titled A Roda do Tempo. Of course, I was blown away and said it would be a privilege. I cannot express how fantastic I find it that we could collaborate on such a project whilst I am in the UK and he is all the way across the world in Brazil.
Needless to say, Cláudio approached utilising my work in exactly the right way, by expressly asking for permission and receiving the licence to do so. Due to the vastness of the internet, there can be huge cases of copyright infringement and, as an artist, I wholeheartedly believe that each and every one of us should be recognised for our work, even more so when images are being used to promote business. We work extremely hard to earn recognition for the pieces that we create and I myself would be more than happy to collaborate with anybody who is interested in my work. So, please do as Cláudio Motta did and ask for permission and I may be able to tick something else new off my bucket list!
I wish Cláudio the best with his future music endeavours and hope that we can work together again soon as it has been a pleasure.
