Jewellery photo shoot with multiple models.
This was a great opportunity to work with some wonderfully creative people on a jewellery photo shoot. Jackey from Jackey L Jewellers wanted to add a “slider” to her website showcasing her wide range of jewellery rather than just an individual piece, which can quickly become outdated or sold. A lot of Jackey’s jewellery is bespoke and consists of one-off pieces so rather than ask our models to wear one piece of jewellery we agreed that we should pose them in various pieces, but try and keep a loose theme to each portrait.
The brief for this project was most importantly to showcase the jewellery, without being too specific on one item, using interesting models with unique character. The background needed to be dark and mute but with a strong texture to highlight both the model and jewellery. We wanted to give a sense of implied nudity but only in a way in which nothing distracted from the unique look of each individual model and the jewellery they were modelling. This was done very carefully, always with a chaperone or Jackey present. Make up was also kept to a minimum in order to allow the jewellery to be the star of the show.
Over a six week period we have been working hard on this commercial photo shoot which involved a lot of planning and coordination, making sure that everyone knew when and where they were meant to be. It was great collaborating with some very enthusiastic and energetic models to produce a collection of six images which I think have a common feel but unique presence for this jewellery photo shoot.
These stunning studio portraits, produced in collaboration with Jackey L Jewelers and the six wonderful models can be seen below. For behind the scenes footage click here.
Steffi – Bespoke Jewellery Photo shoot
Steffi features heavily in my photo shoots, she is such a pleasure to work with! We decided her refined yet stunning look and beautiful golden eyes would complement some of Jackey’s more bespoke, colourful pieces, (and what better way to show off those talons than with a hand full of rings)!
Poppy – Silver Jewellery Photo shoot
Having known Poppy for a few years it was great to catch up with her and take her portrait. Poppy’s naturally pretty and unique look sets off the crispness of the silver jewellery used here beautifully. The elegance of this photo is apparent, but those piercing eyes and freckles take this image to that next level.
Lolaelan – Pearl Jewellery Photo shoot
With Lolaelan’s amazing tattoo’s we knew we needed to use some jewellery with a bit more punch for this photo shoot! Lolaelan’s edgy look was met with pearls draped over her back and wrists, showcasing this stunning jewellery perhaps in a more unconventional way than some may be used to. Nevertheless, we think Lolaelan models these pearls beautifully.
Ania – Gold Jewellery Photo shoot
Having photographed the lovely Ania before I knew we would have no problems in taking a stunning photograph with a professional and driven young lady. Ania’s dark hair and eyes and tanned skin lend themselves to a ‘bronzed goddess’ look wonderfully, and we knew it would only make sense to adorn Ania in gold jewellery.
Ross – Masculine Jewellery Photo shoot
Ross Basham is a professional male model, having featured in numerous television adverts and has modelled for the likes of Topman, Ted Baker & Adidas, among many others. I have been fortunate enough to have known Ross for several years now, and was his and wife Hannah’s wedding photographer back in 2015. This shoot was to advertise Jackey’s new line of men’s and unisex silver jewellery. It goes without saying that Ross needed absolutely no direction from me what so ever, making my job very easy!
Jane – Elegant Jewellery Photo shoot
I have been very lucky to work with Jane before , a lovely lady who is always a consummate professional needing very little or no direction. Jane‘s elegant and classic look showcases some of Jackey’s finest pieces of jewellery and her enchanting smile and friendly persona shine through in this photo spectacularly.
